About DigiLocker

DigiLocker is the government's digital document wallet, run under the Ministry of Electronics and IT. Documents issued into it, driving licence, vehicle RC, PAN, board marksheets, insurance policies and more, are legally valid in place of the physical original.

An account is linked to Aadhaar, so pulling a document is a matter of authenticating once and fetching it from the issuing department. People use it at airports, at RTO checks and during admissions, where showing the DigiLocker copy is accepted.

Its peaks come when board results are published and marksheets land for lakhs of students on the same morning, and during admission and scholarship seasons.

If DigiLocker isn't working

Not loading on a results day? This is heavy load. Wait and retry, use the app if the website is stuck, and try an off-peak time.
OTP not coming? It goes to your Aadhaar-linked number, so check that number is current, watch DND, and enter it within a few minutes.
Document won't fetch? An 'issuer service not available' error is the department's server, not DigiLocker. Note it and retry later.
Account locked after wrong PIN? Wait 30 minutes, then reset the Security PIN. Do not keep retrying, as that extends the lock.
Use the app versus the website One often works when the other is slow, so switch between the DigiLocker app and website.
Check the live status above If many people across India are reporting DigiLocker, especially on a results day, it is a wider issue and not just you.

Use the app if the website is down The DigiLocker app and website run a little differently, so switch to whichever loads for you.
Get board results from the official results website For a board marksheet, the official results site usually needs only your roll number, school code and admit card ID, with no Aadhaar or OTP.
Try off-peak hours Early morning or late night is far lighter than a results-day afternoon.
Raise a ticket or use the helpline Use the verified DigiLocker helpline for a document or verification that keeps failing.

Check the live status and report map above. Reports spiking across India mean a wider issue, especially on a results day. If reports are low, it is more likely your login or connection.

On Class 10 and 12 results days lakhs of students hit DigiLocker together, so it slows down and OTPs get delayed. It is load, not your account. Wait and retry, and use the app if the website is stuck.

The OTP goes to the mobile number linked with your Aadhaar, so if that number is old it will not arrive, and the OTP is valid only a few minutes. Check DND, use a stable connection, and try the app. A mobile update has to be done at an Aadhaar centre.

Results day par bahut load hota hai, thodi der ruk kar try karein aur app try karein. OTP wahi number par aata hai jo Aadhaar se linked hai. Upar live status dekhte rahein.

Errors like 'no record found at issuer' or 'issuer service not available' mean the issuing department's server is the problem, not DigiLocker. Note the error and try again later, since your saved documents are safe.

DigiLocker locks temporarily after 5 wrong tries, so wait 30 minutes rather than retrying, then reset the Security PIN. Do note the Security PIN is different from the login OTP.
