Answer: No Cyber Crime Portal issues reported in the last 24 hours, and it responded normally at our last check on 24 Oct 2026, 4:06 AM IST.
Our automated check runs from one or more locations and may miss in-app problems; reports come from users across India. We only call something "down" when users confirm it too. Here's how we check.

About Cyber Crime Portal
Online financial fraud, hacking, ransomware and social media crimes are all reported in one place: the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) at cybercrime.gov.in. The Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) of the Ministry of Home Affairs runs it, and the State or UT police you select take the complaint forward.
Crimes against women and children can be reported anonymously. Everything else needs an Indian mobile number and an OTP. Each complaint gets an acknowledgement number for tracking, and money lost to a fraud should be reported on the toll-free {helpline_number} line first.

If Cyber Crime Portal isn't working
-
See if other NCRP users report it When many people report NCRP at once, the fault is at the portal's end, not on your phone.
-
Ask for a new OTP An OTP older than 30 minutes will not work. Request a fresh one and type it in quickly.
-
Fill every starred field The complaint form will not go through while a field marked with a red star is blank.
-
Keep the acknowledgement number Save the SMS with the acknowledgement number. You need it for tracking and for the formal complaint after a 1930 call.
Other ways to access Cyber Crime Portal
-
Report the fraud by phone For money lost in a fraud, a call to 1930 registers the complaint even while the website is down.
-
Go to your nearest police station The State or UT police handle every NCRP complaint, so the local police station or cyber cell can also take it.
-
Flag it on the social media app Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and X let you report abusive content directly. Do it alongside the NCRP complaint.
-
Check a suspect number The Suspect Repository on cybercrime.gov.in shows if a mobile number, email, account or URL is already linked to cyber criminals.
-
Contact I4C I4C's email, office line and the national helpline are listed on our Cyber Crime Portal helpline page.

Questions
Check the status card on this page. We test cybercrime.gov.in on a schedule and show reports from people trying to file or track a complaint. If it is down and you have lost money, do not wait for the site: call 1930 and report the fraud by phone.
The usual causes:
- The OTP expired. It is valid for 30 minutes only, so request a fresh one.
- The mobile number is not an Indian number. Registration needs one.
- A starred field was left empty, so the form will not submit.
- The site itself is slow or down for many people.
For a registration or login problem that does not clear, the portal's Feedback form goes to the NCRP team.
- Open cybercrime.gov.in and pick a section: Women/Children Related Crime or Report Other Cybercrime.
- Register with your name and Indian mobile number, then enter the OTP.
- Choose the category and sub-category, fill the starred fields and upload your evidence.
- Select the State or UT where it happened. That state's police take up the complaint.
Women and child related content can also be reported anonymously, without any personal details.
Log in on cybercrime.gov.in and use Track your Complaint with your acknowledgement number. That number comes by SMS and email once the complaint is submitted. Only complaints filed through Report and Track or Report Other Cybercrime can be tracked; an anonymous report cannot.
Call 1930 at once. Give your name, mobile number, address and the transaction details. Through the CFCFRMS platform, police share the complaint with banks and payment firms so they can try to trace and freeze the money.
Then complete the formal complaint on cybercrime.gov.in within 24 hours, using the acknowledgement number sent to you by SMS.
Yes, but only a complaint under Report Other Cybercrime, and only before it is converted into an FIR. A complaint filed in the Women/Children Related Crime section cannot be withdrawn.
Upload anything that shows what happened. That includes the bank statement, transfer or card receipt, chat transcripts, emails, the website URL, photos, videos and a screenshot of the suspect's number. The portal gives each uploaded file a hash value, which proves the evidence was not changed later.
The national cyber crime helpline is 1930, toll-free, for reporting money lost to online fraud. I4C's email and office line are on our Cyber Crime Portal helpline page.
