About Cyber Crime Portal
Lost money to an online fraud? Call the national toll-free helpline 1930 straight away. The line works alongside the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal of the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs, and State or UT police officials take the calls.
All other cyber crimes are reported at cybercrime.gov.in. I4C's own office takes email at [email protected] and calls on 011 2343 8207.
Cyber Crime Portal helpline — questions
1930, the national toll-free helpline for online financial fraud. Officials of your State or UT police take the call and register the complaint. Other cyber crimes, like a hacked account or abusive posts, are reported on cybercrime.gov.in.
Online fraud mein paise gaye hain to turant 1930 dial karein. Call free hai aur State police ke adhikari shikayat darj karte hain. Baaki shikayat cybercrime.gov.in par darj hoti hai.
The official notes your name, mobile number, address and transaction details, and an acknowledgement number comes to you by SMS. The complaint goes to banks and payment firms so they can try to freeze the money.
You then have to file the formal complaint on cybercrime.gov.in within 24 hours, using that acknowledgement number.
[email protected] is the contact address of I4C, the Ministry of Home Affairs centre that runs the portal. A complaint itself is registered on cybercrime.gov.in or through 1930, because the State or UT police act on it from there.
Start with the police station or cyber cell named on your complaint. The Contact Us page of cybercrime.gov.in lists a Nodal Cyber Cell Officer and a Grievance Officer for every State and UT, for Report and Track complaints where the response was not right.
Call 011 2343 8207 or 011 2343 8208. The office is at the 5th Floor, NDCC-II Building, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi. For a fraud that just happened, 1930 is faster than the office line.
Keep your name, mobile number, address and the transaction details ready. Bank statement, transfer receipt, chat screenshots and the suspect's number are also needed later, when you complete the complaint on the portal.
Be careful. I4C has warned that fake emails are being sent in the names of its CEO, the Intelligence Bureau and Delhi Police. Do not reply or pay. You can check the sender's email on the Suspect Repository at cybercrime.gov.in and report it there.
