If Claude isn't working

Read the limit message A five-hour or weekly limit message shows the reset time. Waiting for it is the fix; reinstalling will not help.
Shorten the message or start a new chat A length limit error means the message or files are too big. Attach fewer or smaller files, or open a new conversation.
Look at status.claude.com Anthropic posts incidents there for claude.ai, the Claude API, Claude Code and the Console.
Reload and check your connection Reload claude.ai or reopen the Claude app. Still stuck? Try mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, or turn off a VPN.
Check the live status on this page If many people in India are reporting Claude right now, the fault is on Anthropic's side. Try again after some time.

Switch between web, desktop and mobile If claude.ai will not load, try the Claude desktop or mobile app, or the other way round. All of them use the same account.
Use a limit reset if you have one Eligible plans sometimes get a free limit reset: Settings, Usage, Reset for free, on the web or in Claude Desktop.

Usage limits cap how much you can use Claude in a five-hour session, and there is a weekly limit too. Longer chats, bigger files and the model you pick all use it up faster, and claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Claude Code share one limit. Wait for the reset time shown; paid plans can also turn on usage credits.

Claude logs you in with Google or with an emailed link. If you asked for the link on your laptop but opened the email on your phone, the link gives you a verification code; type that code on the laptop. Look in spam for the email titled Secure link to log in to Claude.ai.
