Character.AI (C.AI) is an AI chat app where users talk to characters made by other users, or build their own. Many Indian students and young users chat on it through the website and the official apps for Android, iPhone and iPad.

Login is passwordless: Google, Apple or an emailed link. When Character.AI is down, chats stop replying, characters fail to load and login links can be late.

Check reports here first Many users reporting at once means a C.AI outage, not your device.
Update the app An old version of the Character.AI app can stop loading chats.
Change your network A VPN or a weak Wi-Fi signal can break C.AI chats; try without them.
Look in spam for the login link The emailed login link can land in spam or junk.

You cannot, because Character.AI has no passwords. Since 30 July 2024 login works only through Continue with Google, Continue with Apple, or an email login link. Email and password, Discord and Facebook logins no longer work.
