Businesses use Cashfree Payments for two jobs: collecting money from customers and sending it out again as payouts, refunds and vendor payments. Cashfree Payments India Private Limited, based in Bengaluru, is authorised by the RBI as a payment aggregator and as a prepaid payment instrument issuer.

Shoppers rarely see the name, since Cashfree runs behind another company's checkout, payment link or UPI QR. Merchants see it in the dashboard, where collections, settlements and payout runs show up. Cashfree also keeps its own status page, status.cashfree.com.

If Cashfree isn't working

Hold on to the order ID Note the order ID, the date and your bank reference. A second payment made before the first debit is reversed may be charged in full as well.
Merchants: open the dashboard Each payment, refund, settlement and payout has its own status in the Cashfree dashboard. Raise a ticket from its Help Center with the reference.
Merchants: check Cashfree's status page status.cashfree.com shows the state of each Cashfree component, marked up, degraded or down. A payout stuck at one bank shows on its Payout Beneficiary Banks tab.
Try UPI if a card fails When a card or one bank keeps getting declined on a Cashfree checkout, switch to UPI or net banking. A single bank's decline does not mean Cashfree is down.
Never share your OTP Your OTP belongs only on your bank's own page. Nobody chasing a refund for you needs your OTP, card PIN or a screen-sharing app.
Check the live status on this page A sharp rise in reports from many merchants means Cashfree has a problem. Wait and retry later rather than repeating the payment.

Other ways to access Cashfree

Pay with another method or gateway On the same checkout, pick a different mode, such as UPI instead of a card. If the shop offers another payment option or cash on delivery, use it.
Merchants: collect by payment link If your site checkout is failing, create a Cashfree payment link and send it by WhatsApp, SMS or email. Many links can go out at once through bulk upload.
Merchants: pay out another way If a payout run is stuck and a vendor or employee must be paid today, send that one payment from your business bank account and mark it in your records.
Helpline for escalation For a refund or payout still stuck, the verified Cashfree helpline lists the care and escalation emails.

The reports on this page tell you. A Cashfree outage hits many merchants at once, so buyers and businesses report it together. For a lone failed payment, try another card, UPI or bank first.

Cashfree does two things, and they break separately. Collections can work while payouts queue up, or the other way round. Check which one is failing for you, then look at the reports here before retrying.

Wait before paying again. A failed payment is reversed to your account, and once a refund is started with the bank it shows in 5 to 7 working days. Keep the order ID and the bank reference. If the money still does not come back, choose Transaction failed but refund not received on Cashfree's Report an Issue form.

Open the dashboard and check the settlement date and the beneficiary bank details you gave. For a payout, the Payout Beneficiary Banks tab on status.cashfree.com shows whether the receiving bank is having trouble. Past the date already? Raise a ticket from the Help Center with the settlement reference.

Check whether every payment mode fails. If only one bank or card declines, that bank is the cause. If UPI, cards and net banking all fail and many merchants report Cashfree here, it is the gateway.
