If BillDesk isn't working

Check the reports on this page first If reports are rising across India, nothing on your end will fix it. Wait rather than retrying and risking a second debit.
Debited but the bill is unpaid Hold off on paying twice. Keep the reference number, check the biller's site for the receipt, and contact the merchant with the transaction details if nothing shows.
Switch the payment method If net banking is failing, try UPI or a card on the same screen. One bank's failure does not stop the others.
Go back through the biller, not the gateway Start the payment again from the biller's site rather than reloading an old BillDesk page, especially if the OTP screen is stuck.
Try a different network Bank OTP and redirect steps can break on a patchy mobile connection. Moving to Wi-Fi is a quick thing to rule out.

Other ways to access BillDesk

Pay through a UPI or BBPS app Many billers also take payment through Bharat Connect, either in a UPI app or in the bill-pay menu of your bank's app. Use that route if the checkout page keeps failing.
Use the biller's own app Try paying in the DISCOM's or insurer's own app instead.
Contact the biller before BillDesk For a payment that did not reflect, the company you were paying can see the transaction and can start a refund.

Check the reports on this page. Reports from many parts of India at once mean the gateway itself is struggling. With only a handful of reports, check whether one biller or one payment method is the problem rather than the whole of BillDesk.

BillDesk sits between your bank and the biller, so a fault on either side shows up as a BillDesk error page. Your bank may refuse the payment, or the biller's own site may be down. Try another payment method on the same screen before calling it an outage.

Do not pay again straight away. Save the reference number and check the biller's site for the receipt. If the biller shows nothing, contact the merchant with the transaction details, as BillDesk's support page asks. Once a refund is issued, the credit reaches your account in 5 to 7 working days.

Use BillDesk's online dispute tool, which gives you a ticket number, or email by product: one address for payment gateway issues and another for Bharat Connect bill payments. The BillDesk helpline page lists both.
