Caste, income, domicile, birth and other certificates in Maharashtra are applied for on Aaple Sarkar, the Government of Maharashtra's citizen services portal at aaplesarkar.mahaonline.gov.in. Services are notified under the Maharashtra Right to Public Services Act, 2015, so each one has a fixed time limit for delivery.
You can apply online with your own profile or at an Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra, where an operator fills the form for you. The portal is built by the Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation (MahaIT), and business approvals have moved to the separate MAITRI portal.

Click New User? Register Here on the home page. There are two options:
- Option 1: verify your mobile with OTP and create a user ID and password. You attach photo, ID proof and address proof with every application.
- Option 2: upload your photo, ID proof and address proof once, with OTP. Later applications need no attachments.
Check spellings carefully, since most certificates are issued from these details.
Open Track your Application on the home page, select the department and enter the Application ID you received when you applied. The status, area and token number of the application are shown.
Use Verify Your Authenticated Certificate on the home page and enter the 18-digit barcode printed on the certificate. It shows the certificate name, applicant, signing officer and the date it was digitally signed.
It is a service centre where an operator fills your application online. Take the required documents and fees, and you get a receipt on the spot. Find the nearest one through the Sewa Kendra menu on the portal, by district and taluka.
Complaints about any Maharashtra government office go on the Aaple Sarkar Grievance Redressal portal, grievances.maharashtra.gov.in. You get a token number to track it, and the portal gives the office 21 working days to resolve it.
If a notified service is late or refused without reason, the Right to Public Services Act gives you appeals inside the department, and the final one goes to the State Commission for Right to Service.
