About Zomato

Zomato began in 2008 as a restaurant listing site and became one of the two apps that food delivery in India runs on, present in 800 plus cities.

The app is still Zomato, though the listed company behind it was renamed Eternal in 2025, and it also owns Blinkit, Hyperpure and District. Users order delivery, book tables, read reviews and subscribe to Gold for free delivery.

Its load is entirely meal shaped, lunch and dinner hours every day, with enormous surges on weekends, on big match nights and on New Year's Eve, the single busiest evening of its year.
