Answer: No NREGA issues reported in the last 24 hours, and it responded normally at our last check on 24 Oct 2026, 4:07 AM IST.
Our automated check runs from one or more locations and may miss in-app problems; reports come from users across India. We only call something "down" when users confirm it too. Here's how we check.

About NREGA
NREGA, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme, ran on the NREGASoft portal of the Ministry of Rural Development. The old address nrega.nic.in now opens nrega.dord.gov.in, which still carries job card, muster roll, wage list and MIS searches.
From 1 July 2026, MGNREGA was repealed and replaced by VB-G RAM G, the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin). It raises the work guarantee from 100 to 125 days a year and runs on its own site, vbgramg.dord.gov.in.
19-day history
We checked 20 times over the last 19 days — healthy on 19 days. It typically responds in about 1.4s.
Dashed line is its usual 1.4s, measured over the last 14 days. Gaps are days with no timing data.
If NREGA isn't working
-
See if other NREGA users report it When many users report the NREGA portal together, it is down. Wait and try again.
-
Use the new address Bookmark nrega.dord.gov.in. The old nrega.nic.in only forwards there.
-
Try the VB-G RAM G site Data from 1 July 2026 onwards is on vbgramg.dord.gov.in, including attendance and MIS reports.
-
Check e-KYC Old job cards stay valid only where worker e-KYC is complete. Ask the Gram Panchayat to finish it.

Questions
Our NREGA card checks nrega.dord.gov.in and shows reports from users across India. A spike in reports means the NREGA portal is struggling. Remember that nrega.nic.in now forwards to this address, so a stale bookmark is not an outage.
The portal moved. nrega.nic.in redirects to nrega.dord.gov.in, and the new scheme, VB-G RAM G, has its own site. A page on the old address may not load.
Job card, muster roll and wage list searches sit on separate report servers, so one search can fail while the home page opens.

Yes, if e-KYC is done for your workers. The Ministry's FAQ says such MGNREGA job cards stay valid until new Gramin Rozgar Guarantee Cards are issued. A household without a job card applies for the new card at the Gram Panchayat.
Open Search Job Card/ Work/ Musteroll/ Wagelist/ FTO on the NREGA home page, or the Job Cards report. Choose your state and go down to your panchayat to find the card.
