About CSC

Common Services Centres (CSC) are the village and ward-level access points for government and business e-services, run under the Ministry of Electronics and IT by CSC e-Governance Services India Limited. More than five lakh CSCs work across India.

Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) who run the centres deliver services through the Digital Seva Portal, digitalseva.csc.gov.in. Under a security rule, VLEs can log in only within 20 km of their registered CSC location.

If CSC isn't working

Log in from your CSC location Digital Seva allows login only within 20 km of the registered centre.
Fix a wrong GEO location Update it through the process on the Jaankari portal if logins keep failing.
Test another service If only one service fails, check that department's own portal or notices.
Clear the browser cache Stale sessions can block the Digital Seva login. Clear cache or use another browser.

Questions

This page checks digitalseva.csc.gov.in and shows reports from VLEs and citizens. When many operators report the portal failing at the same time, CSC's servers are the cause. If one service alone fails, the partner department's site may be down instead.

Check the login location first. Digital Seva login now works only within 20 km of your registered CSC location, so logging in from elsewhere fails. A single service failing on the partner department's side can also look like a CSC outage.

Check that your registered GEO location is correct. If it is wrong or out of date, follow the GEO Location Update process on CSC's Jaankari portal, then log in again from within 20 km of the registered centre.

Do not pay. CSC says no one should be paid for physical verification, CSC ID activation, unblocking or issue resolution. Report it with details to [email protected] or [email protected], or call the helpdesk on 14599.
