About CoWIN

India's COVID-19 vaccination records live on CoWIN (Co-WIN), the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare platform that ran the drive past 200 crore doses. Today most visitors come for one thing: the vaccination certificate.

You sign in with the mobile number used at registration, and one number can hold up to six people. The same certificate is also on the Aarogya Setu app and in DigiLocker, and employers or embassies can check one at verify.cowin.gov.in. Corrections to name, date or passport details go through Raise an Issue after sign-in.

Use the registration number Only the mobile number used when you registered opens your records. Another family number will show nobody.
Wait out the OTP timer After a wrong OTP, CoWIN makes you wait 180 seconds. Requesting again before that does not help.
Open the sign-in page directly Certificates sit behind Register / Sign In, not on the main page. Tap it, then look for your name and the dose.

Pull it from DigiLocker The same certificate is in DigiLocker under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, using your Beneficiary Reference ID.
Use the Aarogya Setu app Aarogya Setu downloads the CoWIN certificate with your registered mobile number.
Let the other side verify it An employer, college or embassy can scan the certificate's QR code at verify.cowin.gov.in, so a printed copy is enough.
Call the health helpline The verified CoWIN contacts list 1075, the Delhi line, the technical helpline and the support email.

Only when reports on this page climb from many places at once. Then CoWIN has downtime or a technical issue, and DigiLocker or the Aarogya Setu app is the way to get the certificate meanwhile. With few reports, the problem is more likely the OTP or the number used to sign in.

Most failures are at sign-in. CoWIN only recognises the mobile number used at registration, and after a wrong OTP it makes you wait 180 seconds before sending another. Sign in through Register / Sign In on cowin.gov.in, which opens the self-registration page.

Try DigiLocker. Under Health, open Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, choose COVID Vaccine Certificate and enter your Beneficiary Reference ID. If the old number is gone and you have no reference ID, call the helpline 1075.

Add your passport through Raise an Issue first. Then choose International Travel Certificate under Show Certificate against dose 2. It is generated within two hours of the request.
