About CoWIN

CoWIN was built by the Ministry of Health to run India's COVID-19 vaccination drive, one of the largest such programmes ever attempted anywhere, and it handled the registration, slot booking and certificate issuing for it.

Now that the drive has wound down, most people come to it for one thing, to download or verify a vaccination certificate, usually because an employer, a university or a visa process asked for it. Records of doses taken years ago are still available here. Its traffic rises whenever some travel or admission requirement sends a batch of people looking for old certificates.
