About Bihar Post Matric Scholarship
Students from Bihar's BC and EBC communities apply for the Bihar Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) on pmsonline.bihar.gov.in, run by the Education Department, Government of Bihar. SC and ST students use a twin portal, scstpmsonline.bihar.gov.in, and colleges verify applications on the institute portal.
For 2026-27, applications on both portals are open from 15 July to 30 September 2026. Each application passes institute, district and state checks before the money goes by DBT to an Aadhaar-seeded bank account.

Our PMS status card tracks pmsonline.bihar.gov.in and collects reports from students across Bihar. When reports from many districts climb together, the portal is down for everyone, not just you.
Check these first:
- Your Aadhaar is not seeded with your bank account for DBT. The application cannot be finalized until it is.
- You chose the wrong academic year at login. Pick the year you applied for.
- You are on the wrong portal. BC-EBC students use pmsonline.bihar.gov.in; SC-ST students use scstpmsonline.bihar.gov.in.
- The portal is down or slow for everyone.
30 September 2026. Applications for 2026-27 on both the BC-EBC and SC-ST portals opened on 15 July 2026. Dates are posted on the portal's home page, so check there for any extension.
- Click New Registration 2026-27 and create your profile.
- Fill the application and upload documents.
- Check that your Aadhaar is seeded to your bank account.
- Finalize the application.
It then goes to your institute, the district and the state for approval before payment.
Aadhaar, income certificate, caste certificate, 10th certificate, bonafide certificate, fee receipt, last mark sheet, a photograph and an Aadhaar-seeded bank account. The income and caste certificates must be RO level. For 2026-27, the income certificate must be issued on or after 1 April 2026.
Use Application Status on the portal home page and select the academic year. Status updates also come by SMS. If an SMS does not arrive, log in to the portal regularly to see where your application stands.
Log in, correct the defect and finalize the application again within 15 days. You get at most three chances to fix defects; after that the application is rejected. If a document number or certificate was wrong, update it after logging in.
Only after your income and caste certificates are verified and the institute, district and state have approved the application. The amount is paid by DBT to the bank account seeded with your Aadhaar, so keep that seeding correct.
