Ayushman Bharat is the government's flagship health programme, run by the National Health Authority, and it has two quite different halves:

PM-JAY, the insurance scheme giving eligible families cover of up to 5 lakh rupees a year at empanelled hospitals
ABDM, the digital mission that issues the ABHA health account for storing and sharing medical records

People use the portals to check eligibility, download the Ayushman card, find an empanelled hospital nearby or create an ABHA number. Registration surges when a state widens coverage or a new category, such as senior citizens, becomes eligible.

If Ayushman Bharat isn't working

Wait for the OTP and retry Ayushman card download and ABHA creation both need a mobile or Aadhaar OTP. On busy days it can lag, so wait a minute before requesting another rather than restarting.
Use the right official portal Use the PM-JAY beneficiary portal for the Ayushman card and eligibility, and abha.abdm.gov.in for the ABHA number. Do not use lookalike sites, since both services are free.
Keep Aadhaar and mobile linked Card download, eligibility and ABHA all rely on your Aadhaar-linked mobile for OTP. Make sure the number is current and reachable.
Try off-peak or the app If the website is overloaded, try later in off-peak hours, or the official Ayushman and ABHA apps, which can work when the site is busy.
