Mastercard is a card payment network present in more than 210 countries and territories. Indian banks issue Mastercard credit, debit and prepaid cards, which work at card machines, online, at ATMs and by contactless tap.

Mastercard India runs a free, round-the-clock customer care line for lost cards and general questions. Your PIN, bill, limit and declined payments stay with the bank that issued the card, whose number is on the back of it.

Insert the chip instead of tapping If a tap payment fails, insert the card and enter the PIN.
Switch on the payment type In your bank app, enable online, international or contactless use if that kind of payment is failing.
