About National Career Service

The NCS portal, or National Career Service, is the Government of India's free job portal. The Directorate General of Employment in the Ministry of Labour and Employment runs it. Jobseekers search government and private vacancies, employers post openings, and counsellors and career centres work from the same site.

Login is by mobile number and OTP, or through DigiLocker once linked. Away from the site, more than 1,200 career centres and employment exchanges help people register and hold job fairs.

If National Career Service isn't working

Compare with other jobseekers When lots of NCS reports arrive together, the portal itself is having trouble. Give it some time.
Log in the new way Use your registered mobile number and OTP. If you have linked DigiLocker, try that route when the OTP is slow.
Skip the profile for now Registration does not need the full profile at the start. Tap the View jobs button to skip it and finish the profile later.
Update the NCS app On Android, install the latest NCS app from the Play Store, or switch to ncs.gov.in in the browser if the app keeps failing.
Reload on another network Close the tab, move between Wi-Fi and mobile data, and open ncs.gov.in again.

Walk in to a career centre NCS lists more than 1,200 Model Career Centres and employment exchanges on its Career Centers page. They help with registration and run job fairs, with or without the portal.
Let job alerts come to you Turn on a job alert at the bottom of your search results. New matching jobs then come to you, and job-fair vacancies reach eligible candidates by SMS and email.
Save jobs and apply later Bookmark a listing when the portal is slow. It waits under Saved Jobs in the left panel until you can apply.
